Despite the fact that the characters in the hit HBO show Game of Thrones often have bigger things to worry about than simply how they look, many of them manage to always look absolutely impeccable. As the penultimate series of our favourite show draws to a close, we thought we’d take a moment to review the incredible costumes and clothes we’ve seen over the last few years, and rank the characters that have shown the most style.
4. Margaery Tyrell
When it comes to dressing the part, or styling yourself for the job you want not the job you have, few characters do it better than Margaery Tyrell. Throughout her time in the show, Margaery was constantly aiming to become queen of Westeros, and so she always dressed the part. The shapes, shades and skin-showing frocks she chose not only managed to make her look seductive and playful but somehow managed to make her look like real wife/queen material at the same time. Very impressive indeed.
3. Jon Snow
A few months ago, when season seven of Game of Thrones was just about to premier, online poker operator 888poker published an article ranking our favourite characters according to their poker personality. The first character on this list was The King of the North Jon Snow, who unfortunately did not impress when it came to poker, because they consider him too aggressive to be able to bluff his way to a winning showdown. While we can’t really argue with 888poker’s points, we thought it was about time he got the praise he deserves in the form of some style appraisal. Although he always dresses in black, Jon somehow manages to always look iconic and that really takes some doing. However, don’t invite him to your home poker game, as he’s not likely to behave.
2. Sansa Stark
We thought long and hard over who would come second in our list of most stylish Game of Thrones characters and eventually settled on either Melisandre or our victor Sansa Stark. Yes, Melisandre always looks the part with her crimson hair and various shades of red attire, but her true form just doesn’t cut it for us. Instead, we prefer Sansa’s style with beautiful, braided red hair and fur collars. Even in the worst scenarios Sansa has always managed to portray an innate, natural style that simply cannot be matched by anyone in Westeros. Well, except for one person that is…
1. Daenerys Targaryen
Finally, we’ve decided the most fashionable character in all of Game of Thrones is none other than Daenerys Targaryen, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons. Even when newly introduced to the role of a Dothraki Khaleesi, Daenerys remained a style icon with jaw-dropping outfits that suited her slight frame and glorious blond hair. These days, Danny never looks anything other than regal and strong as she fights for her claim to the Iron Throne. Sure, we cannot be certain as to whether she will win the war, but if it ever came down to a fashion show between Daenerys and Cersei we know who’d come out on top.
As war continues to ravage the land of Westeros, we hope that the fashion will continue to awe us almost as much as our winner’s dragons. Of course, if you think we’ve missed out any of your favourite fashion-forward characters please let us know in the comments below.
